Overview
After several turns of a negotiation you have a chain of drafts, and a question like "when did this indemnity cap change, and who changed it?" Comparing the first draft with the last shows what is different, but not at which turn. A version history answers that: it is one document covering the whole chain, in which each change that survived to the final draft is attributed to the draft that introduced it.
Before you start
You need the Version Story plugin in ChatGPT. See Install Version Story in ChatGPT.
Build the version history
-
Start a chat with Version Story selected, from Try in chat on the plugin's page or the Plugins menu below the message box.
-
Attach the drafts.
-
Give the order they were written in, and the name to show for each:
Create a version history of these drafts in this order: Original, Buyer comments, Seller comments, Final. Show which version introduced each change.
ChatGPT returns one document in which every surviving change is marked with the draft it came from.
Get the order right
The result depends on the order of the drafts. State it explicitly, oldest first. Dates in file names help, but ChatGPT should not have to guess.
